Belarus is not eager to attack Ukraine. Is that why Putin also bombed Belarus yesterday?
According to the Ukrainian side, Russian planes bombed Belarus. First, they were to fly into the air of Ukraine in such a way as to give the impression that the attack was launched from the territory of that country. This would be an obvious provocation by the Kremlin. However, there is no independent confirmation of such an incident. Neither Belarus nor Russia have referred to it yet.
Ukraine claims that the Russians faked an attack on Belarusian towns from its territory
The Ukrainian Air Force Command reported that Russian planes bombed Belarus. The bombs were to fall on the town of Kopani, and the planes were to take off from the airport in Dąbrowica. Previously, they flew into the airspace of Ukraine, flew over the villages of Horodychi and Tumeni. The attack was to take place on Friday at 2:30 PM. Subsequent messages suggest shelling at two more Belarusian villages.
The Ukrainians are clearly saying that the Russians are preparing a provocation to justify the Belarusian army joining the war between Russia and Ukraine . They assure that the Ukrainian army has not planned and is not planning to take any aggressive actions against the Republic of Belarus. At the same time, they warn against possible complicity in Russian war crimes.
We appeal to the Belarusian people - do not let yourself be used in a criminal war. After all, you have never been occupiers and murderers. Do not become them now for the sake of the Kremlin's interests
It is worth noting, however, that among Internet users there were doubts as to whether Russian planes actually bombed Belarus. MotolkoHelp website noticed that there is no airport in Dąbrowica in Belarus. Residents of nearby towns also do not confirm any attack. They could hear neither planes flying by, nor the sounds of an explosion.

What is it all about? It cannot be denied that the Russians in Ukraine suffered heavy losses. They are making great efforts to be supported in the invasion by Belarusian soldiers. Alexander Lukashenko , in turn, in his recent statements, assured that Belarus would not join the Russian invasion. He just repeats the words about making sure that someone does not accidentally attack the Russians from behind. Who would do that? It's hard to really say.
Of course, it is difficult to take seriously the words that change Lukashenka's mind every few hours. The fact is, however, that the Belarusian military is clearly reluctant to assist the Russians in their "special operation". It is worth noting in this context that Alexander Lukashenko himself paid a visit to Moscow on Friday. Some commentators speculate that the purpose of the visit is to bring the dictator to order - precisely in terms of the lack of direct involvement of Belarusian soldiers in the conflict. Currently, Russia is so desperate that it draws mercenaries from Syria.
The Security Service of Ukraine also argues that the Russians want to break the resistance of the Belarusian army before participating in the attack. But what if the attacks did not actually take place? We can then deal with a form of a game on the Ukrainian side aimed at anticipating and weakening the actually prepared Russian provocations. Neither the Russians nor the Belarusians, at the time of writing this article, have commented on the alleged bombing of Dąbrowica.
One thing is certain: apart from the real fight on Ukrainian soil, there is also an information war between all participants of the conflict.
