According to the Polish Press Agency, passengers and employees are evacuated from the Boryspil airport near Kiev. The announcement also added that Ukraine is closing airspace for civilian aircraft.

Putin ordered a military operation

On Thursday, world news agencies reported that Vladimir Putin had ordered a special military operation in Donbas .

Putin said Russia could not tolerate what he called threats from Ukraine and warnings against foreign interference.

The leader added that the military operation in Donbas is aimed at protecting the local population. As he underlined, circumstances required Russia to act decisively and added that Russia did not intend to occupy Ukraine.
