Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "will both take some proper time off" in the coming months, according to a source close to the pair. The source told Vanity Fair's royal correspondent Katie Nicholl the couple wants to spend "real quality time together" after the birth of their daughter in the summer. Charlie Rae, who is the former royal correspondent for the Sun, simply remarked: "Time off from what?"
He was discussing the news with talkRADIO host Kevin O'Sullivan this morning, who suggested Harry "needs to be introduced to the real world at some point".
They remarked the news of a "long holiday" for the pair comes just days after Harry secured two new lucrative jobs in California.
Mr O'Sullivan said: "Prince Harry and Meghan, they have been working so hard that they announced they need to take a really long, proper break.
"This is in the slipstream of Harry landing two, thoroughly undeserved, highly-paid lucrative new jobs in America."
He continued: "He gets two jobs and then announces he is taking a long holiday.
"Someone needs to introduce him to the real world at some point, don't they?"
Mr Rae agreed, adding: "Absolutely! I thought it was strange he felt the need to tell us he was going to have some time off.
"But, you're quite right to ask, time off from what?
"This is a guy and his wife who claimed privacy all the time and we know more about them now than we ever did before. Just stop it!"
The Duke of Sussex's break would mean time away from his new executive position at a Silicon Valley start-up that claims to be worth $1.7billion.
The royal will be working as chief impact officer at mental health services business BetterUp.
