Medvedev predicts Britain's return to EU next year

Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev predicted on Monday that the United Kingdom could seek to return to the European Union next year, which would likely result in the union's dissolution.

He added that Northern Ireland could secede from the Kingdom, and join the Republic of Ireland. Additionally, Medvedev predicted that the borders within Europe could change, with Poland and Hungary "taking over" western regions of Ukraine. Meanwhile, the security council deputy chief forecasted that "all major stock markets and financial activity" from the United States and Europe could be transfered to Asia next year.

In 2023, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, according to Medvedev, could "collapse," warning of the rejection of the dollar and the euro as global reserve currencies that could result in the reinstatement of the gold standard.
