In 2023, approximately 5,098 Slovenian citizens emigrated abroad, which was a decrease from the previous year. The number of emigrants from Slovenia fluctuates, but in recent years, there have been around 5,000 to 9,000 Slovenian citizens leaving the country annually. In 2020, 17,745 total people emigrated from Slovenia, and a notable portion of these were Slovenian citizens.
