RIA Novosti's Kyiv bureau chief monthly paid EUR 53,000 for discrediting Ukraine army

From unian.info:

Deputy head of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine Viktor Kononenko says chief of the Kyiv-based office of RIA Novosti Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky, who was detained in Kyiv on May 15, was paid EUR 53,000 every month for discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"EUR 53,000 for subversive activities is only a proven amount. According to our data, the financing exceeds EUR 100,000 per month," Kononenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on May 15.

The money came from Russia to Serbia, then from Serbia to Ukraine, where it was distributed by Vyshinsky among the structures and persons involved in the unlawful activities.

"While [Ukrainians] on the squares of our cities and towns were paying tribute to dead Ukrainian soldiers, they in the center of Kyiv were producing materials claiming that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had allegedly been shelling civilians in Donbas and committing other unlawful deeds. Mister Vyshinsky was regularly paid for this," he said.

Kononenko said that Vyshinsky jointly with several other journalists had launched active support to the terrorist organizations, the "DPR" and the "LPR," after his return from Crimea in 2014.

In addition, Vyshinsky was included in the Myrotvorets website's list, as he has actively covered the Russian occupation forces' activities in Donbas and Crimea. In 2014, he was awarded with the Russian Medal of the Order "For Merits to the Fatherland" for "objective coverage of events in Crimea."
