A boy was hit in the face and man lost his briefcase in separate armed robberies in Fearie Glen, east of Pretoria, on Friday.
In the first crime, three men ambushed a resident leaving for work in Alaska Street in the morning, said Debbie Henderson of Acute Trauma Intervention.
“The man was held at gunpoint and there was a scuffle. The men fled with the man’s briefcase and his watch after the sounding of an alarm.”
The second robbery was in Michigan Street when six armed men entered a property and tied up a family.
One of the children tried to run but was hit in the face. He suffered a broken nose and teeth and possible concussion.
“The men fled, leaving the family in a state of shock. We fear that the boy might have a swelling on the brain,” said Henderson.
Police were still to confirm the attacks.
